theres a robotics disposal yard near sanctuary

i activated the prototype sentry robot there.

his visor lights up, he says a couple things about protecting the military etc..... and then just sits there doing nothing.

i blasted him about 20 times with a shotgun and he did nothing at all, didnt even move, until he exploded.

then lots of molerats appeared from nowhere and i killed those.

area doesnt say 'cleared' on the map.

BUG!!

Not a bug, you just didn't do this correctly.

Last Warning before spoilers...

You have to go in the building, check the computer terminal, and use the holotape. Once activating the bot, you can eject the holotape and insert it in your Pip-Boy. From there there's four different locations you can send him to, to "help defend". There's also a self-destruct command. There's also a shut-down command, but once the bot is activated, you can't power it down. The logs on the terminal secretly refer to this as an "unknown malfuntion". The self-destruct probably does work, but I didn't try it since I'm saving the bot for the other 3 locations (I already cleared USAF Olivia prior to finding the bot).

i ejected the tape before i read it.

i then read the tape outside, and the only option i got was to activate him.

maybe thats why, no options appeared?

i just did this quest again

this time i activated the robot from the terminal

then ejected the tape and used it outside.

i selected to send the robot to fort hagen

the robot talked for a bit about mapping coordinates or something and then did nothing at all.

didnt move at all

i decided to move on... got to the usaf olivia place and suddenly out of nowhere the sentry robot appeared. said a couple things about hostiles and then did nothing at all.

didnt fire back.

didnt move from its spawn place once all the enemies were killed by me.

definitely bugged
