Story spoilers ahead/faction spoilers ahead

So I've rigged up the the signal interceptor in "The Molecular Level", now I'm being told to report to Elder Maxson before i finish, who is seemingly stuck in the airport building in a place impossible to access. Has anyone else encountered this or know of a way to fix this? loading earlier saves doesn't seem to help

i like the chair with a dead guy in it i saw floating in the air randomly when i looked up, just to remind me im playing a Bethesda game.
