Housesettlement building tip

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:04 am

Not sure if this has been said already, and if so i do apologize. I just tried to get a house together, while building straight onto the foundation. It doesn't quite work because you can't line up the walls correctly, they don't snap into place. Quick tip, build floors on the foundation and then you pretty much got it going. Just built a house in less than a minute this way. Structures/Wood/Floors, trust me. Would upload some screenshots, but the forum is not letting me.

It never even occurred to me to try building walls directly onto the concrete foundations. My first instinct was to build floors.

Mine was just to build prefabs. Works fine, then add walls and a door.

Well the pre-fabs got those pillars on every corner which can mess up an open floor plan.

My issue is I can't get the floor pieces to line up exactly with the cement slabs. It's always off by some angle. I wish there was some 'grid' placed on the slabs to build on.

...I now feel stupid. Have sent about 4 hours building a 3 story abomination to architecture with walls first. Thank you!

I don't have access to building floors or stairs. I can only build walls, doors and roofs, and the only wall types I have are 4 small walls.

Is that normal or do I have to reinstall?

Also, thank you for the advice on using floors first. Hopefully I can get access to them and build the homes correctly.
