I'm running the game on a bootcamp mac, but it's not like I'm expecting superb fps or smooth gameplay. What I did expect was for the game to launch. I can easily get to the launcher, but after hitting play, a black screen appears before the game exits itself. Nothing loads at all before it closes. Furthermore, if it matters, the fallout window doesn't even have an icon for the taskbar.

I have updated all the relevant drivers so I'm not sure what the cause of this issue could be. I'm sure that the game should have launched because I can run other bethesda and "windows-only" games via bootcamp.

What are the hardware specs on your Mac? Do they meet the minimum system requirements?

I believe my specs would be a bit below the minimum required but my game should still at least launch into the new game screen at least?

Not necessarily. Past Beth games have been known to do this sometimes when the hardware is not up to spec, even on Windows machines.

Can I expect a patch / fix / workaround for this to come out anytime soon?

I rather doubt it, if it is a problem with your hardware not being capable of running the game. There's really not any way that can be patched.

Having said that, I don't know much about running these games on Macs. If it's not a hardware problem but instead is a configuration problem, hopefully someone who can help you will read this and do so.

changed graphics options to windowed and borderless and it fixed my issue...hope this helps!

were you able to make your windowed version full screen because I cant.
