hardcoe mode with:
- No [HIDDEN/CAUTION/DANGER] when crouching;
- No mission markers (the NPCs tell where to go and you mark it yourself);
- No pause when using pip-boy.
That'd make it a even greater game!

My game of the year? Just continue to do what they've always done without throwing any unwanted curveballs like a set protagonist or cut-scene dialogue.
As to various GOTY awards, does the time of release impact a game's chances? A game released too early might be off the radar or seem old by the time the entries are considered, while a game released late might miss the show altogether. Of course, I don't know of any such award that I lend any credibility to. That's not a surprise though, as I feel the same way about the Oscars and other so called awards that come out of the Hollywood mutual (and seflie!) admiration society.
If Fallout 4 is anywhere as good as I felt Fallout 3 and New Vegas were, then it will be. The only way I worry about games like this is what seems like a need for developers to compete and "innovate". I don't really care about innovation, or even the advancement of humankind in Fallout. Give me the setting and atmosphere of fallout and make a game out of it. Until they make a game where it seems like the people of the Fallout universe have learned from their mistakes, I don't think they will ever advance. I think they should just keep building up until they kill each other in another nuclear war, because war never changes.
Allow me to play over 500 hours without game-impacting mods.
If anything I think getting released early will help. Being released in September- December will hurt due to all the other AAA games and yearly games being released in that.
Honestly lol, the only way this wouldn't be my personal game of the year would be if Rockstar suddenly released Red Dead Redemption 2! Hah. Fallout 4 being released is enough for it to be my game of the year. I really can't see any other games topping this one for me.
...my favorite game? Oh sure, that's simple, but most likely impossible for Bethesda to accomplish, even if you gave them 1,000 years: Make it like Fallout NV. A deep story, consequences in every or most actions, perks that focus on a specific role, challenging obstacles, fun crafting, interesting NPC and finally, the last nail in the coffin, good dialogue that I don't feel like I'm being a tool everytime I talk to something or feel a headache growing at my 'choices'. mix that with an interesting world, and well...let's just say Fallout series would have an explosion of popularity compared to nuclear blasts.
If it makes me feel the way Fallout 3 did, which was easily my favourite game ever made ever, then I'm happy. I don't have a list of features I want from other games put into Fallout to reach unreasonable expectations via unworthy comparisons. All the other games that are released these days are all pretty much [censored] in my opinion, with fancy graphics at the expence of decent content, so I have a lot of confidence that Fallout 4 won't have much trouble standing out from the rest of the other crap and being as much a home run as their other (Fallout and TES) games have been. It's pretty much already my personal GotY, pending more info on storyline and player character particulars.
Release in a year different from Zelda U.
To be my game of the year?
My head says the Witcher 3 is my game of the year.
My heart says Fallout 4 will be my game of the year.
I was loving the Witcher 3 prior to the announcement of Fallout 4 and then well, its a great game but I'm more interested in any fallout news.
This of course is dependent upon it being released this year, if its announced to be a 2016 release then my immediate interest will be reduced to moments of huge excitement whenever a trailer is released and downloading all the art work.
