I'm doing the Unlucky Valentine quest. I've gotten into Vault 114 and talked to Nick Valentine. However, he won't follow me in our escape and there's a locked door that requires a key I can't get passed. I read in a walkthrough that Nick's supposed to unlock this door, but he won't, since he won't follow me. I've tried manually pushing him all the way from around the area I found him to the locked door and he still won't unlock the door.

Worse still, this quest seemed to trigger something so I can't go backwards the way I came (there's a debris blocking my way now). So I can't do ANYTHING in my game. My last separate manual save was hours before. Am I completely borked?

I'm sitting in the same boat. Can't get anywhere, and my last save i can go back to is from days ago(managed to save over my last save by accident inside the vault after the bug). Stopped playing now hoping that this issue will be fixed, really enjoyed the game, but not enough to restart it right now.

If I remember correctly, I believe you are supposed to pick something up from the overseer's desk or computer, can't remember exactly, however I do know that you are supposed to follow him through the vault, not him following you. Try talking to him if you have not.

After getting the option to sneak/kill the guys downstairs he stopped walking. Can't get through the door downstairs as he doesnt go there to open it.

If I talk to him he only says something like "not a good time now, don't you think? Talk later"

Tried. He doesn't move. He got stuck outside the room I found him in and talking to him does nothing. Tried painstakingly pushing him around manually but he still won't do anything.

I sorta had the same problem. If you kill them, run around, go to the room with the door. Hopefully he will follow. I killed the enemies in less than a second and he just wouldnt move at first. Not sure if it's just happenstance or not. I know we wouldnt progress through until finally he said something about doing it the loud way. You may also have to stick behind him as you are following him, not the other way around. Hopefully this helps somehow?

Thank you for trying but I don't think anything works. As this game popped my fallout cherry I spent about 30min running around, looking for ways out, keys for the door etc, not knowing how common bugs seems to be on games like these.

Just like the OP I tried to force Valentine to the door.

Fast travel obv don't work either. Is it a lost case hoping that a patch can fix the issue? I'd rather wait for a month or two for a fix than restarting, not sure If I'm waiting in vain.

I am unable to enter the vault after dying in there. No action or prompt comes up at all at the control panel for Vault 114. What's worse is I left it alone and got carried away and played a ton since then.... Help. Patch. It's such a great game and there's so much to do otherwise, but this is the main story. Would be nice to know a patch is in the works.
