Cinematic trailer?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:54 am

Hi everyone,

It's been a long while since I've been on these boards and I'm happy to be back and hyping again!

Does anyone know of/remember the leaked information posted to a LinkedIn account which hinted at a Cinematic trailer from Mirada studios? Of course, the trailer we saw at the end of the countdown was in-house engine. I wonder if they will show the 'cinematic' at e3?

I can't wait until next Monday!

as always with leaks it should be taken with a fist of salt, I have not read this leak myself, but keep in mind for all we know there where perhaps plans to have them make a trailer, but maybe Beth later decided to drop it and do the trailer we already seen.

It's probably going to be something like seen in the Fallout 3 E3 trailer.

Maybe because the info on the cinematic trailer was made public BGS decided to not use the cinematic trailer and instead made the one that we saw.

I find cinematic trailers are disruptive at best and fraudulent at worst.

Any trailer well ahead of launch is meant to tease the audience,

but we are well past the days where a cinematic trailer had to be constructed to hype the actual lame pixelated gameplay that was sold.

I welcome in-game trailers that are representative of the actual game

and that are not cinematic or pumped up vertical slices that set up unreasonable expectations.

(e.g. Watch Dogs, The Witcher 3 and a host of other games).

I have no issue with cinematics at launch to sell the game to supermarket purchasers,

because by that time more focused gamers will know what they are getting and have been able to make appropriate purchasing decisions.

Skyrim Live-Action trailer would like to have a word with you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1AenlOEXao

It released close to the game's release. I think for TV-advertisment purposes it's a great idea because I always find gameplay trailers on TV look weird af. really out of place. but a live action trailer fits it more.

Oh indeed, live-action is terrific because you know it isn't the game.

But a cinematic can svcker you in: Elder Scrolls Online for example - cinematic trailer with hordes of angry foes.

Reality is three bored Khajit with bad attitudes.

I doubt Bethesda would commission a company like Mirada studios to spend a few months on a trailer and not release it :P I guess we will find out soon...

It is on Sunday, 1900 (700 PM) California time, but the OP is in the UK, so will likely watch their Monday AM.

Sorta been wondering about that MIrada cinematic trailer myself. I suppose BGS could have told Mirada to "eat it" for breach of the NDA, or perhaps they are re-negotiating the cost because of it.... who knows. Seems unlikely though that it will not see the light of day at some point. Perhaps it will be a part of the news conference, or part of the interim marketing that occurs between then and the release date.

Meh, not too bothered about a cinematic trailer after already seeing an in-game trailer. In-game trailers tend to be a lot more representative (and I think the graphics are ok!).

Yeah....

...I remember it very well, she said something like there will be a voiced character, and that character will be male. And that you will be only playing as a male after you complete the main story, then you can change the gende due to the dlc content that there will be launching.

.

.

.

.

And that the presentation that they are going to give in E3 will not be a gameplay, but another cinematic teaser/trailer. And she also mention something about VATS and another things how the gameplay will be etc. That info in reddit looked a 100% or at least 50/50% accurate due to how well she nailed some points she was giving. And that there will be some kind of new bird eye view in this FO4 game.

.

.

.

.

But maybe after that post, I bet the developers will show a gameplay instead of a cgi trailer.

Quite a large margin of error there, wouldn't you say.

That's what I call a non-starter. Content I liked (a voiceless protagonist I was free to customize and make into the person I want) being removed for content I don't, with the promise that at least part of the content I want in this series will be ransomed to me at a later date.

If that's true, I won't be getting Fallout 4 until a GotY/Ultimate whatever they want to call it is released and on a good sale say, 10-15 bucks?

That's really late for an E3 conference, they're usually in the afternoon. Weird, I just hope it isn't a cringefest, this being their first big conference and all.

OT: I prefer in-engine trailers in general or live action ones for tv spots. Cinematic trailers just lead to misconceptions and arguments.
