settlement farm assigning management is unbalancedbugged

my settlement is unhappy all the time no matter how hard i try.

the settler npc's are supposed to automatically be assigned to similar crops on the settlement based on the crop you assigned them to, but it seems there is a limit either not being displayed or just unbalanced to how much the npc can farm. i try to assign them to other crops, but they seem to leave the crop ive assigned to them before. even if the auto assign activates, it takes a long time before it is displayed on the settlement data menu or the workbench mode. the NPC takes a long time before automatically farming other crops of the same kind. should it not be instant? every time i try to fix it and assign an npc to a crop or move them to a new one, the food count drops quickly, very quickly. i'm afraid i'm not going to be at my settlement when the food drops unexpectedly drops further due to npc limit.

the mechanic needs to be fixed before I waste my time with more of its issues.

on a side note, i cant repair my crops. i use the resource, but the crop never grows back.

also, it seems the NPC is not officially assigned to a crop until i either look away from the assigned crop, or wait.

it would be nice if when you highlight a settler, it displays their assignments.

What i would love to see is when you open the menu for the workbench there is a tab for all of that stuff.

The name of every settler, what their job is, and where they are going if they are a supply runner.

it would even be great to be abel to assign them from that menu as well.

they get auto assigned to as much as they can however if you reassign them it reassigns everything. in addition if you mouse over them in workshop modes the things they are assigned to glow
