Hello i killed the queen and destroyed all the eggs in and on the castle. But the quest will not go on or say that it is completed. When i want to talk to preston he says: " focus in defending the castle" or " focus on getting the radio working". I tried to sleep and to fast travel and even powered up the radio in hope that the quest will continue but nothing works i completed the quest on 21 hours when i played and the last save before the mission is 11 hours so reload is not an option. Please if someone could help that would be great. Thanks for now.

I had the exact same issue. What worked for me was starting another mission. About 30 seconds into the new mission I got a message saying to come back to the castle to finish up. When I got there Preston was there waiting for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info i also started and completed a few other quests where even one i needed to talk to him and then he reacted but after it still same issue

There's a related mission with the military guys, can't remember their name, where they also need the radio tower to be powered on. If you go and join the military guys you will eventually get this mission. This should allow the castle mission to resume.

Can't find the exact mission, but the other group you need to join is the Brotherhood of Steel. I've done 2 missions for them. 1 of the missions allowed me to complete "Taking Independence". Good luck and let me know if this works for you.

I had problems with this mission too. So bad I ended up loaded a previous save and losing a couple of hours play.

My problem was that after killing the queen it told me to talk to preston but I couldn't because he had somehow got himself trapped inside the wall.

You sure it was brother hood of steel have done like 6 missions for them but nothing never to the castle. Can you maybe remember who gave you the quest ?
