Map icons for companions and dead bodies

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 6:07 pm

By now, map icons for companions should be a standard in both TES and Fallout games. It saves a lot of time, knowing exactly where they're at if they get lost.

Also, dead bodies of recently dispatched enemies within a certain radius would also be nice for easy looting. These dead icons could have a two minute time limit.

There have been plenty of times I got caught in heated battles, running around the battlefield and not being able to find all slain adversary's corpses to loot.

Or even a spell: Detect Corpse.... That would be REALLY helpful. Many is the time I have killed more than one deer, and have been unable to find one......

FO:NV shows companions on local map. Morrowind had the detect corpse spell. Better done with some technology in fallout. Thermal imaging would show everything in view even if behind vegetation but not rocks or buildings. It would also show fresh kills.

It will not show cold blooded creatures like giant radscorpions or minelurks. Robots should show up as they generate heat. Same with ghools who are just sick people.

True but Fallout 3 didn't have any of these features. Plus Bethesda didn't make New Vegas which is why I'm hoping map icons for companions are included in Fallout 4.

Maybe even walkie talkies where you can communicate with your companion if separated if transmissions aren't blocked. I guess that would be a mod since Fallout 4 is most likely in the tweaking phase at this point.

Thermal imaging sounds cool for scoping out nearby bodies though.

Yes, less chance to get fooled than with the red dots on the compass. Remember I was in an ruin in FO3, lots of stupid radroaches who I used a 10 mm SMG on, suddenly I run into an sentry bot and a reload :)

A nice trap.
