ok i thought id post this in case anyone else experienced this issue on their xbox ones and can't seem to fix it. (i can't speak for the other platforms) i had an issue where my text boxes wouldn't appear. i don't know what caused this because i didn't even really realize it until i picked up numerous cap stacks and i didn't see how many were being picked up. so i tested it and other messages wouldn't pop up either such as when you pick a lock and piper is with you it should have a text box that says "piper liked that" but it still didn't show up. so i reset the xbox via my controller and it still didn't work.

HERES THE FIX

you have to do a hard reset on the xbox one to do this you have to reset the xbox NOT VIA THE CONTROLLER OR KINECT. you have to hold down the power button (the xbox logo on the xbox one console itself) for about 5 seconds until it turns off. by doing this it'll ACTUALLY reset the game and xbox, and my text boxes have returned. hope this helps someone.
