if i join a faction does minuteman missions stop? : Fallout 4

brotherhood of steel asked me to join them.

i said im unsure for the time being because i dont want the minuteman stuff to stop just yet or preston to leave.

will it stop?

can you do multiple factions at once?

You can do multiple factions at the same time up until a certain point

The faction quests go up to a linked part of the main quest where you have to make a Teleporter. after this, the faction quests ARE the main quests and you can only do one

BUT, the radient quests and companions are still there except for some

-if you join the BoS, you eventually have to wipe out the Railroad, this includes the companion

-opposite for for the Railroad, who force you to wipe out the BoS

-In both these cases, minutemen are not touched, their quest just eventually gets to a certain point and stops right before the quest intersection would normally happen

-If you join the Institute (possible during the teleporting events), you wipe out both BoS and Railroad, not sure about Minuteman in this case

-IF you join the minuteman and make them powerful enough with enough complete settlements, they wipe out 3 all other factions.

did i just screw myself over by doing the main quest before the factions? i'm joining the institute but still want to do the quests for the other factions

The game should tell you this.. I mean warn you before committing. Instead we are left fumbling in the dark.

Actually they do warn you.

I'm with the Institute and I remembered getting a warning message

that BoS would be my permanent enemy if I proceed.
