Taking Independence quest bug ***spoilers***

I've just "completed" the Taking Independence quest. By completed I mean I killed the mirelock queen and the quest now says "Meet the Minutemen in the courtyard". There are two standing there and a third is dead. Preston Garvey is nowhere to be found and the quest marker in my pip boy shows that I have to travel halfway across the commonwealth to meet them. When I get near it the marker moves further north. Is this Preston heading back to sanctuary?

Additionally, one of the quest requirements still says to Destroy the egg clutches, but I've been EVERYWHERE in the castle and around it and can find no more egg clutches...

I can build at the castle now but cannot complete the quest. Umm, help.

I've also encountered a major bug during the "Taking Independence" quest. I've killed the queen and the quest notes acknowledge that I've completed that, however somehow it doesn't acknowledge that I've cleared out of the eggs, even though I definitely have and it's also a prerequisite to fighting the queen. I've searched all over the castle and there are no more eggs left. When I speak to Preston, all he says is "we need to focus on clearing out the castle" and won't let me progress on the quest even though the queen's corpse is a few feet away.

I really want to complete the Minutemen missions and this bug is preventing me from moving forward. Before you ask, the closest manual save point I've made was hours ago and I don't feel like starting going through all that work again... I've tried leaving the area and coming back and waiting for many in-game hours and nothing has changed with Preston's dialog. I'm afraid I won't be able to complete this quest line until a patch/update is released to fix it. :(
