Game freezes at black load screen

Hi all!

I just purchased Fallout 4 via Steam and I can't get the game to start even though my Nvidia driver is up to date and my computer is well up to hardware specifications. Any help on this?

A lot of people have been having this problem. (Get into main title screen, click play, get loading screen, crash) You could try running Fallout directly from the .exe as administrator or in compatibility mode, or turn off the steam overlay in settings. This has worked for a couple people.

Right, I've found a workaround; when selecting the graphics options go for windowed and set it to the highest resolution, that solved it for me.

added note: it quit on me again I have now tried everything I can (from overclocking to windowed mode to compatability settings admin permission , etc....) and can only assume it is on bethesdas end at this point.

i had the same problem , i am running win 10 and no hardware issues . funny thing is i was playing this morning with no problem i quit for a few hours came back and poof the black screen of no load. found a solution though i went into the fallout file and changed both .exe's to run under compatability for win 8 and it loaded up again . whats up bethesda? glitches in the launcher?
