Fallout 4 Massachusetts State House Trap!

Hello everybody, Im fairly new to Fallout, just started on Fallout 4 actually. I've put in a total of 23 hours so far. As i was discovering the area around Diamond City, while on my way to rescue Detective Valentine, I came across a house, The Massachusetts State House. Being a curious gamer, i couldn't help myself and went in. I got most of the house done when i got to a part that has a legendary Murkel, and a Queen monster who had a skull next to her name. I immediately knew i wouldn't be able to beat her without my power armor, so i decided to leave. To my horror i couldn't because apparently there where enemies too close. So then i decided to head forward and come back later. So i head forward and to my horror again there was 2 legendary raiders and an extra 3 raiders in front of me. At this point i pretty much used up all my hp food and aid. I had a sliver of health left and couldn't leave from behind, because before this part u fall into a pit, from where u cannot leave form where u came. So naturally i made the hard decision to load a save right before i entered the dreaded Massachusetts State House. To my extreme dismay i only had 2 option from my saves, it only showed saves from inside the house, and a save from when i had only completed 14 hours. Basically if i wanted out of that house i would have to lose 8 hours of hard work and playing. And for me that is not happening. So please, anybody, help me. What should I do? Why aren't my saves showing up? I probably saved a 100 games within that 8 hours of game play. So where are they?
