How are those Raiders gonna fight us in Power Armor without AP rounds right?

I say bring ammo types back and make them a real part of the game.. I love how system shock 2 did it but just make sure its easy to switch between types. Like Armor piercing should be a must for fighting people in armor or robots. Fire Ammo sort of a must for flesh-mass beings such as super mutants, and normal for just about everything but not near the extent to what the other ammo can do to their related enemy.
I did lot's of them rewatch the gameplay.
I agree with the OP. The different types of ammo in FONV such as armor-piercing and hollow point were a totally pointless mechanic that did nothing but clutter an already-cluttered inventory system. Might be different if inventory was actually categorized decently, but that particular mechanic was still pointless in the game (and I only play on hardcoe, too).
Perhaps such a mechanic might work if the game included sources that you could research to learn the most effective means for each enemy/monster you might encounter in the wasteland (or at least most of them... the ones that are pretty common and knowledge would surely be available).
i have zero problems with ammo as long as they don't make energy weapons useless like in FNV did that was slap in the face first time i experinced that
I just can't imagine this being a deal breaker. Having Ammo variety.
It's not like it was even that much of a sensory overload. You could play through New Vegas and not even bother with alternate ammunitions. It was like, that completely optional strategic quirk...that and making ammo was like, the only way to keep Ranger Sequoia ammo plentiful.
