Won't start"Video hardware not identified"

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 11:25 pm

I just downloaded Fallout 4 on Steam, and when I got to the menu it said: "Video hardware not identified. Video settings have been set for Low Quality." Whenever I try to play the game it just crashes and says "Fallout 4 has stopped working." I tried starting it in compatibility mode, and updating my graphic card, but it still won't run.

I'm using Windows 7, and my graphic card is ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series. Is there anything I can do besides getting a new graphic card?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the exact same issue. The game ran once. Just once....

After that, nothing but problems.

From what I know, if youre on windows 7 you MUST have the 64 bit version. You NEED at least 8GB of physical ram. At least a Core i5 processor or better, and by the look of it, you need a MUCH better graphics card. Mine is higher spec than yours and no joy.

I totalled up what I would need to spend to get this game to work. £350.

Or. option 2.... Get the PS4 version seeing as I have one for my son in the living room.
