No Fallout4.ini in My DocumentsMy GamesFallout 4

I'm trying to change the FOV but there is no Fallout 4 folder in My Documents/My Games. I've used the console to change the FOV, but it doesn't permanently change the FOV. I think I remember this problem in previous Bethesda games with Windows 8 (running Windows 10 now).

I think the solution was downloading the file separately and manually adding it. Could someone please host or privately email me an unaltered My Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder Fallout4.ini file I could manually put in.

Thank you!

ALSO, side note, there should be FOV and gamma/brightness settings in the game settings by default. 80 degree FOV is restrictive and at night you shouldn't be able to see EVERYTHING, it's too bright.

SOLVED: I found the solution! My Documents were being saved to OneDrive and I was looking at the wrong folders. Fixed both my FOV and colour issues!

You just need to copy the necessary .ini files in to the folder that should be in Documents/My Games.. if the folder isn't there, manually create a Fallout4 folder and copy the ini files there.. can't guarantee this will fix save game issues though as that's what I'm experiencing right now.

Thanks, but where do I copy the .ini files from if they were not created in My Documents? I found this download:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout4%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D81&pUp=1

Will let you know if it doesn't work...

Yeah please do, you should be able to get the .ini files from the main directory the game was downloaded to.. should be something like program files/steam/steamapps/common

I've changed FOV settings and Pipboy colour settings in the Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini in both My Documents (manually downloaded) and the Steam directory with no results. I'm able to change the FOV in 3rd-person view with ~console commands but for 1st-person view it reverts to the default even after exiting console. Very frustrating!

Hmmm.. this is an issue I'm not sure about.. what GPU are you running.. is it Nvidia and if so, do you use Geforce Experience? You should be able to permanently tweak that setting from there.

I'm running an AMD GPU and CPU. Just experimenting with overclocking, but probably doesn't have anything to do with that.

So I've fixed my FOV to 100 which is awesome! I experimented with making the files not read-only and changing the FOV settings under the interface. Not sure what fixed it.

However, now my GUI and Pip-Boy launch at colours I don't want them to. Strangely, my Pip-Boy is set to a purple colour, which I never set.

I found the solution! Turns out it was my OneDrive settings. My Documents were being saved online and I was looking at the wrong folders. Fixed both my FOV and colour issues!
