Fallout 4 - Xbox One vs PS4?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:24 am

Hi

Do you think there will be a difference between the 2 versions, like we have seen with other games where resolution, FPS and graphics quality, are lower on Xbox One?

It has been announced the mod sharing is coming for Xbox One first, and "They are hoping to bring it to PS4".

It has also been announced that Fallout 3 will bundle with Xbox One version of Fallout 4, There are no information, if this is a "Backward comp." version or a ported new version.

If the PS4 runs much better and with higher resolution i would really like that one, but considering all the stuff xbox one version, i don't know what i would preorder?

What are your thoughts on this?

I think both consoles are more or less the same. It's just matter of preference between 2 rivaling companies.

Someone some day will start a huge flamewar on social media without proper facts. Here we can only speculate and take news with grain of salt. Unless Bethesda does not say otherwise. There is no difference between Xbox nor PS4 or even PC. Different platform for different people end of story.

Xbox One gets mods. Playstation is a "hopefully"

Other than that no difference.

Just wait until launch and see what runs better.

...I'm leaning XB1, I don't think downgrade will be severe ...and the XB1's CPU is faster, which always has helped these engines that have some lineage to Gamebryo. It's been torn down and reworked, but it is the same people doing the reworking and CPU speed has always some linear benefit in a way that extra cores don't, so I can only surmise that they will continue to go about rebuilding the game engine in a way that brings benefits to additional speed more than it does additional cores. With the faster CPU, FPS drops should be non-existent. It is just a matter of a potential downgrade to 900p.

The XB1 is an almost safe bet.

Why would you assume that there would be "no difference" when most games are 900p on XB1 and 1080p on PS4?

I'm really tied between getting a PS4 or a Xbox One. I have tons of games for the 360, and don't want them to go to waste now that they've announced backwards compatibility. On the other hand, isn't the PS4 1080p whereas Xbox One is 900p? Is there a major difference?

I just don't know what to do, haha. And don't tell me to get a PC. Could've done it for a long time, chose not to. Just isn't my type.

Not a major difference, but it's worth mentioning. If you really like the exclusives on XB1 then go with that, but neither console has great exclusives, IMO.

Pitting one console against another is always a one way ticket to flaming. Play on your preferred machine. There is no way at this point to know if one or the other will have issues but it's the same game on Xbox, PS and PC so...play on what you like to use.

Going to close this.
