Amazon confirms faction system?

I was looking at the Amazon page for the game when I saw an interesting bit of info under Key Features. It reads

Freedom and Liberty! Do whatever you want in a massive open world with hundreds of locations, characters, and quests. Join multiple factions vying for power or go it alone, the choices are all yours.

I checked the page for Fallout 3, to see if they made a similar claim, but they didn't mention anything similar to this. The New Vegas page has a similar quote, it being

Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles--A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas.

It also has another feature listed as

Let it Ride--In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it's all in how you play the game.

New Vegas obviously had a faction rep system, and the feature for Fallout 4 seems a lot similar to the ones listed above then the feature list for Fallout 3. What do you guys think?

I can concur says the same thing on the EB Games Australia website this would explain why the BOS are enemies in the trailer so it looks like that you can assist them or fight them and the same goes for other factions.

Yes please let this be true. Hopefully this also mean we many factions to pick from at the end to join or none at all.

I'm curious to see if they'll pick an Oblivion style faction system or a Fallout New Vegas system it would be nice to have a mix of sorts i.e join a faction but that doesn't mean that the opposing and/or neutral faction is destroyed.

It may mean something or it may mean that some advertising exec let his/her imagination roam a little too freely.

A general rule of thumb in any industry is that Marketing will always overload the Developer's/Engineer's ahole.

But one can dream.

Honestly I'd believe they're expanding the quality of the faction system that is supposedly going to be implemented but nonetheless they're obviously not pulling the information out of their ass since they used some gameplay information they know off as a basis to expand on if that makes sense.

So we should be cynical but not completely and hey they've been working on this game for a long time and they've had a lot of time to learn so we can hope that the marketing spin is as good or better then the real thing :P

Its just a huge question of what system they're going to implement like I said its most likely the Fallout New Vegas system or a lightened down version which is more Oblivion in the way that consequences are limited. Or maybe Bethesda has really created an indepth system that rivals Fallout New Vegas that's what I'm hoping for but we'll have to see nevertheless I'm looking forward to any upcoming interviews with Todd.

"Join multiple factions vying for power or go it alone, the choices are all yours"

Save for the main conflict of the probably good vs evil. This probably means you could join all the other factions just like skyrim
