Custom Summon Spell

Post » Thu May 27, 2010 11:04 pm

I was thinking about my current character this morning while at work and was wondering if it was possible to create a scripted spell that summoned a specific custom creature or NPC (which would be like a thrall). It would also be extremely useful if that creature/NPC could gain experience in the skills that it used while summoned and effectively gain levels.

I have no idea how to mod or script but if this is something that is possible it would make my character RP so much cooler.

Bear in mind that the link given was to an Oblivion tutorial. Scripting in Morrowind is a bit different, though certainly some of the principles will be the same.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6500 mod by Fliggerty might be a good example to study for the scripting end.

If you are new to Morrowind modding, there are a lot of good tutorials pinned in the Construction Set subforum. But your greatest reference tool will be http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/files/tuts/MWSFD90_Word.zip

Good luck!

I actaully had a similar question a few years back and in the end I created my own. You can find my mod "scripted summoning" on PES and it just uses two simple scripts to work. It also doesnt require MWSE.

Its worth a look, then when you feel more comfortable with scripts you coud try a MWSE version :D

I was thinking it'd be cool to summon Gold or summon food. Like, right before you go into a shop, you summon 1000 gold coins, or drakes, and buy the stuff in the store and leave with your merchandise. And then the gold would disappear from the merchants inventory. Hmm, that would probably cause lots of problems, especially for those like me who use the weight-fix mod for gold. But lore-wise, it would be fun.
