Brotherhood of Steel Questions [POTENTIAL SPOILERS]

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:50 am

So, as most of us know by now, the BoS show up after you've proceeded to a certain mission in the main storyline.

However, what I want to know is; will this happen even if you never meet and help the BoS recon team in the police station?

And if it does, then can you still do those missions after they arrive, and can you join them after they've arrived?

I have to say the BOS is my favorite faction in fallout. I'm not even close to finishing F4 yet, but I sure hope that I can help these guys take over all of Boston. Screw those Minutemen!

And hey, if you wanna join up with an army of xenophobic [censored]s, go for it.

They ONLY care about settlement building and the institute. At least they do if you only stick with them. It's like BoS doesn't even exist to them. Maybe if you join BoS later, but beforehand? Nope. It's like "Hi. Bye."

Considering that BoS is "freeing the commonwealth" in THEIR way and the in the way of the minutemen (basically genocide of none humans), you'd think there would at least be something to say on the matter between them. Something along the lines of "You act like you're trying to save us, but you're not the holy knights you make yourself out to be."

Btw, how do you trigger the, um... backup of the BoS outside of the main quest? Certain level? Doing other certain quests? After so many in game days/weeks? If it's mission scripted the name of the quest itself will suffice.

I have never been a fan of BOS in any of the Fallout games except for 3. In 3 they were like a cutoff branch of the BOS and they actually helped DC. Any group that is locked into an ideology that then hides behind that ideology to commit untold death and destruction does not sit well with me. Real life examples, Christian Crusades, Nazi Germany, fundamentalist Muslims.

At least the Minute Men are trying to defend and protect, the BOS are only interested in stealing any technology and they don't care who they have to kill or what they have to destroy to get it.

Bring Preston to visit the Brotherhood of Steel locations and on the mission where Danse recruits you and you'll get an earful.

Preston and Danse hold each other's organizations in contempt.

My favorite quotes?

Preston: "The Brotherhood of Steel has the best toys but they don't have a commitment to the Commonwealth or its people."

Danse: "The Minutemen remind of the Brotherhood under Elder Lyons--weak and misguided."
