KELLOG - Why no wife? (spoilers)

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:42 am

This. When I fought him I didn't let him talk. There was no justification that that character would accept or any explanation or apology that would placate him. I dropped the synths and attacked Kellogg.

Since the dude I'm currently playing with was an intel anolyst for the USArmy during Anchorage he's more level headed and pragmatic and will give Kellogg a chance to explain himself. Looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

What? You see your character walking on a patrol in the opening cinematics. Intel anolysts don't go on patrols.

In most of the game so far, the protagonist's speech options (and voice acting) is fine. But the Kellog thing rang false with me too. I missed the Fallout 3 days where you had 6-7 different options where you could play it cool or not so cool and control the flow of the conversation. Here there were too few choices and the overacted protagonist responses seemed ridiculous.

The whole thing kinda didn't make sense well they kidnap the kid since he is prewar and doesn't have dna corrupted by the radiation, well why not take the wife and use her as an "egg factory" and harvest healthy eggs, they're scientists that has to be priceless in an apocalypse if they're planning on rebuilding humanity.

Technically, given the way the Institute seems to function, the most viable way would have been to take the entire family. Have them continue to create generations of non-corrupted families in the comfort of the Institute. Two people can make many many children in only about two or three generations. Coming from the place the player's family was before the cryo chamber, they would assimilate rather well into the Institute, being that they would be wholly unaware of life above the surface at all. You wouldn't have to convince them the Institute is the better place, they'd just assume it true. It would be exactly what they /thought/ they were getting into by going into the vault in the first place. The hell on the surface would be but a fairy tale to them who had never set foot on it since before the bombs dropped.

That's funny as I actually found a Fatman in one of the locked rooms with a mini nuke in Fort Hagen. I then blew Khellog up with it as soon as he walked around from the shelf or whatever it is. Lol Hilarious, I was like "Hahaha As if he assumed I wanted to speak first."

The Institute basically murdered everyone in Vault 111 for [censored] and giggles.

Unfortunately, the people who ordered that horrific act died of old age in their Mass Effect-esque paradise.
