Hi all, I'm writing about my problem here in the hopes that anyone can actually give me some info or help.

Since the very first time Preston Garvey has told me to speak to the settlers at Sanctuary Hills to help them with their problems, the PipBoy has pointed me to go fetch the quest from... a cadaver. Who is not even in my settlement. He is lying on a bridge somewhere south of ArcJet, in his dirty underwear, dead as a nail (and has been dead for quite a while, too many hours of gameplay back). I obviously cannot talk to him. He obviously cannot give me the quest to kill ghouls/raiders/whatnots. As a result I keep failing the quest (which is repeatable and which Preston insists on giving me waaaay too often), and the Happiness level of Sanctuary Hills is crumbling. The lowest point thus far has been 31%.

I am royally pissed, because I have spent so much time on building that place! It's home, basically.

Has anyone been affected by a similar issue? Has anyone found a solution? Any help would be appreciated!

Do you know the name of the character that is dead?

Also sounds like a bug you are experiencing. I have heard of Main NPCs dead that kill the story-line.

He has no name, alas. He is just written down as "Settler"... So he's basically a Mr. Nobody that is ruining my happy settlement. My only solution so far has been to send Preston away, to another settlement where I never go, and so he won't be able to give me any more quests of that kind. It svcks.
