Keeping the settlers happy and the size of the town.

I have noted:

I spent a lot of time running around Sanctuary cleaning up the debris and converting it to raw materials. I also spent a lot of time placing walls around the entire town of Sanctuary. I added several generators, a settler beacon, a warning siren, a couple of level 2 turrets with defensive positions. I have added water (27), Food(18), Power (20), Defense (16), Beds (23)-- Happiness was all the way up to 71 now it's down to 49. The size was in the green but is in the yellow now.

I figured out how to assign settlers to different items but as soon as I assign someone to one thing, food may go down because I do not have a clue what if any that settler was already assigned to. There needs to be a notice saying this settler has been assigned to: ____.....

The main question here is how to keep the settlers happy..?????????

The best way I kept my people organized was to put the bell near my food and saluaging stations , Because when you have all the settlers gathered after ringing the bell,

when you highlight them in Workshop mode it will highlight what they are assigned to. With the shop operators I change there garb to match what they are doing,

like chef's hat for the food vendor. Also the people assigned to defense I give them combat armor. How to keep them happy is first give them there desired resources,

food, water, and beds. And from what I can tell you need to also add entertainment I just added a juke box and my happiness never dips below 80% as long as I go

there when they are attacked because if you ignore there call for help it will cause a drop. Also if you are looking on pip boy map at there rating sometimes it displays

there happiness incorrectly.

It kind of shows you.... if you highlight the person, what they're assigned to is also highlighted.... but you can only know that if you can see both the person and what they're assigned to at the same time.
