I got to that point, it was a tough decision. In the end, as hard as it was, I decided to walk into Railroad HQ and kill everyone, and here's why. Railroad have no real ambitions past saving synths, they'd happily take human lives away for that cause and still have no real long term plan. Meanwhile the institute has powerful technology, and have more of a real chance at saving humanity. I don't think the institute are bad at all, it's just the people up top don't fully understand their view. The 'kidnappings' were very rare, and were their way of employing people, they weren't kidnapped they're just not allowed to tell people where they're going etc.

Really didn't want to kill RR though, I did most of their missions as was on the brink of helping the escaping synths but at the end of the day it's your son, and his plan is far better for any chance of a future life

Remember how the instatute killed all those people in vault 111 for no reason? Remember how the synths that are not getting new identities by the railroad are killing people and replacing them for no reason? The in statute might dangle a shiny perfect future in front of you to get you to go with them but they are constantly doing terrible things to "improve on mankind's imperfections"

I for one do not think death is a design flaw of humanity, we need it to keep tyrants like Hitler from controlling the world endlessly, even if one ever did control the world eventually he would die and someone else would be in charge, even if it it not a tyrant the world changes but people do not, immagen if the people who owned slaves were still around holding on to their ideals. It would be terrible not a utopia

What end? When they kill everyone and replace them with synths who will live forever? How is that a good thing? Their way of helping humanity is destroying it quietly so nobody notices it.

Dude that's not their goal at all did you even listen to them?

Edit: and quietly??? You literally announce what you're doing as the Institute at the end of the game. They're not trying to replace humanity dude. You should really listen when they're talking about their goals, they're not 100% evil.

When exactly does this happen?

The people they take are recruited to help them further their goals, there's even a quest where you see this.

There is no 100% good or bad faction like Fallout 3, its more like New Vegas, so its very subjective to who is the best choice.

Lol, no. The disappearing people are the ones who are recruited... The synths KILL and replace people. When someone finds a synth replacement, the guy who he replaced is dead. You come across this multiple times as random encounters in the wasteland. All these times, the synth is trying to kill the guy he is replacing. It is to infiltrate society.

Edit: The institute purposely keeps the wasteland divided. They massacred everyone at the peace talks, peace talks which could have helped the common wealth a MASSIVE deal. The only interests they have is themselves.

Actually it's usually the guy holding a gun up to the synth.

If you save the synth they turn around say "well just guess I'll have to KILL you both."
