Better moderation...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:08 am

I implore the forum mods to please start locking/deleting posts on subjects that are continuing from one thread to another.

Said posts are not constructive and are only continuing the same rehash by the same OP's.

This person doesn't like this or that. Making duplicate threads and calling them a continuation is just a rehash of the same opinion in expertorance that these features will be changed when the game is basically done...

You don't like the threads don't look at them, don't post in them, ignore them entirely. We're allowed to criticize things we don't like to see, we're doing nothing against the rules unlike this thread which is just attacking people for actual constructive criticism.

srry, moderation is not given by request. moderators know what their jobs are and they do them accordingly. if you don't like how these boards are moderated you can always go somewhere else.

I've seen a whole bunch of threads shut down. Mods seem to be doing fine. Not too strict, not too lax.

I hate the apparent 200 post limit to be honest. That said the mods are fine it's just that rule.

The 200 post limit is probably for performance reasons. Some forum software doesn't handle long threads too well.

Oh, and IBTL (Rule 9).

I would suggest contacting a moderator via PM, because posting about moderator action or inaction is against one of the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/

^I'm obviously not a mod, but thought it would be a good idea to share that. (Like that emphasis? =P)

The 200 post limit was done because by 200 posts the topic has usually been derailed, or since a lot of people won't bother to read 7+ pages before replying to the OP the thread was full of spam as people kept saying the same thing over and over.

I don't think so, not unless the posters are breaking the forum rules.

There are a lot of continuation threads that are posted in by the same people, with basically the same arguments. The multiplayer and co-op threads are an example.

If anyone sees anything they think might be an issue, use the report button. All of us see the report and we'll handle it if necessary.

Before the 200 post limit was to prevent the hamster that ran the server from keeling over. Now its basically because no one will read all 200 posts before they reply.
