Fallout 4 optimized for new controller?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:51 am

Is Fallout 4 optimized for the new http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controllers/elite-wireless-controller? More buttons for better game experience and all.

Controller can be used for PC and I'm sure PS4 will have their own similar coming out as well since most games are the same for both consoles.

it will be and if it isn't supported there will definitely be a way to bypass optimization issues. The poll is not really necessary though :D

im hoping it wont be because that would mean an additional like $60 to play this game if it is i wont complain to much because then mods may work better (like project nevada which addedx extra buttons so you couldnt use an xbox controller to play)

If it makes the gameplay better for not just Fallout 4 but all future games that you would put a thousand hours total on, then it's worth it.

I doubt they would cater to it since most people on the XB1 would probably not be using the thing. Sure it could be an optional toggle but I doubt they're really be able to make much use of the thing. I mean, what are those extra four buttons even for?

And on PC I doubt it even more. Most PC players are going to be using the mouse+keyboard combo we're all so familiar with and most of the ones that aren't are probably going to keep on using their trusty old 360 controllers or other various controllers.

I love how you can swap part on it: first you customize your gun, then your armor and finally the controller :)

Whatever link you used, destroyed my connection to my monitor. Had to log off using crtl alt delete, then stop the process before I returned to the main screen. So, yeah. Give some warning next time.

That controller isnt even on the market yet. Better question is will Fallout 4 make good use of the touch pad on PS4 controller?

The link was to the official Xbox.com site for accessories, for the US region anyways. It was Xbox.com site that crashed your computer.

Still, a bit of a warning would be nice. I'm assuming it's whatever Xbox used to show off their latest controller, caused some major issues on my end. I'm guessing some sort of 3D preview? Yeah, must not have what I need to view that.

That Elite controller is only for FPS multiplayer try hards and has no value in any other capacity.

i hope a few extra things can be mapped to the new buttons to give more control, but its not necessary. I'm sure mods will make use of it if beth doesn't.

I like games to be optimized to be played with a keyboard and mouse or relevant peripherals as nature intended. Console scrubs should be an afterthought.

Well if you could map the extra buttons to shortcuts it would be useful.

Isn't the controller's software supposed to help you optimise the controller for whatever game, not the other way around? I thought the whole point of the elite controller was that you could map any button to any other button (or, hopefully, button combination). So shouldn't it work for any game a regular Xbox controller works for?

I just meant that Beth just makes FO4 with the new controller controls in mind.
