Possible Launcher Crash Fix

Is anyone having the issue where, after pressing 'Play' in Steam, the FO4 Launcher pops up and then crashes with a Windows error? You can't even start the Launcher without getting a message like this: "Fallout 4 Launcher has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Well, don't hold your breath for Windows to get back to you with that solution - you're gonna have to help yourself.

I'm gonna share my experiences with this issue and, in doing so, hopefully remedy this same issue for other people. This fix is for those who can't even get the Launcher to...launch, so I can't speak to whether or not it will help with other crashes, though I can't imagine it would hurt any.

1. The problem seems to be with some system DLLs, specifically DirectX DLLs. These DLLs are normally added automatically with Window Update, so the first thing you should do is make sure you're all caught up with those updates and not missing any of these DLLs.

2. If you are caught up with Windows Updates and are still crashing, download and manually run the install for the latest DirectX version directly from Microsoft's site. I can't post links, but if you Google "DirectX download", the first link should bring you to Microsoft's site where you will find all the links you need under the "Manual Installation the latest version of DirectX" header.

3. If you still can't get past the Launcher, try installing an older version of DirectX from that same website (for example, if you type "directx end user runtime june 2010" into the search bar on Microsoft's site, the first link will take you to a download link for an earlier DirectX package).

I think an important DLL went missing and was either deleted, overwritten, or corrupted in some way, as restoring a previous version of DirectX fixed this issue for me. Of course, this wasn't the -only- thing I tried (I did every other fix people on the forums had suggested, like updating to beta drivers, running windowed, etc.), but this is what finally ended up working. I hope it works for you folks, as well.
