Some Lore issues limit my enjoyment - Jet RetconGhouls

Why, exactly, was Jet, Pyscho, and most Post-War drugs made into Pre-War? Did they not know Myron invented Jet in Fallout 2? How did the inhabitants of a certain Vault obtain Jet? I dont' mean just a random loot table, it's actually part of a quest storyline and mentioned on a terminal along with Pyscho as Pre-war.

Also, how does a ghoul survive 200 years without food or water? Because I've met two pre-war ghouls that have been trapped in very isolated places without sustenance, that haven't gone feral, twice. Fallout 1 Necropolis ghouls needed water, hell, even Ghoul Settlers need food and water. What gives?

are you talking about 81 ? if so the overseer says they trade with the out side world so they could of got the recipe from them.

Those are the two retcons i've found so far. They are abit bothersome, but its not like Fallout 3 which was just a mess when it came to lore.

I think the problem is that they never really choose a visual style for Fallout 3, it was just kind of bland. Now they had a design in mind and the ghouls had to change with said design. Happens in games, unfornately. I do like their new movement though, makes them harder to deal with.

for me is the best change we got now, the look actually like Feral, and no just a wondering malnutrition Ghoul. That, and the new PA system, i know isnt lore friendly with the new core, but Hell if it feel like a POWER armor now.

Plus love how finally the BoS got a new PA from thier own design

I know Bethesda Just [censored] the lore out with even thinking about how it should interwine with the gamplay ,its quite sad

Not really sad. Its not like the rewrote everything lorewise. They really had worse blunders than this back in Fallout 3. I think Emil (lead writer) did a very good job this time and establishing new lore and staying true to what already exists. It will never be perfect and like it was in the old games, but FO4 is a huge improvement on FO3. Which is the game we should compare it to.

Its entirely possible Myron found a stash and figured out the recipe and then decided to claim invention of it when selling it to seem more invaluable. Maybe it was primarily an east coast thing and wasn't as big on the west coast so he could get away with that. or he found the ingredients and cooked up a batch not realizing he was recreating something from pre-war? Knowledge and truth are very rare commodities in the wasteland, anything is possible. the big change to me is that T-45d armor was previously said to run on short lived power supplies and that the T-51 series fixed that, the descriptions for the t-51 and at the time "advanced power armor" described only needing to be charged once every few hundred years or some such. Maybe all current Power Armors are based off the T-45 frames with new shells reverse engineered from the 51s and such back-fitted to them. Maybe it is just a ret-con for game balance reasons. I would have liked to see a torso mod for power armor though that lowers resistances but eliminates the need for fusion cores.
