Reactions to Burns and Shocks

So we know from the gameplay demo that enemies do react to being shot at this time, especially that ghoul. However what I always dislike about Bethesda's games was that enemies would never really react at all to fire or shock attacks in ways such as screaming, writhing, trying to put out the fire or getting electrified.

There was a part of the demo during the crafting section where we do see raiders trying to breach the town defense which did have flamethrowers being used against them, but they seem to have died too quickly for us to really notice anything.

Yeah, in the first two fallouts the death animations were more brutal. The fact that in FO3 enemies didn't react to being on fire was kind of off putting.

I don't think that every game should have loads of gore and enemies screaming and reacting in pain... but fallout is one of those franchises where it really fits the mood.

Well fallout does have some things that influance pain barriers. For example i can see super mutants having a higher pain threshold (resistance) then humans, and maybe a drugged up junkie is less suseptical to pain and fear due to being just way to phsyched up to feel it. So while i can understand raiders and such may be on chems that supress pain to a point that they dont react on it, setting on fire random citizens should make them run off screaming towards the nearest water scource in my opinion. However i think games rarely do that as it would immediatly mean several countries laws being at odds with the game content depending on how "gory" it gets. For a fact i believe autralia has verry strict rules depending violance portrayed i think, as well as germany maybe ??? but dont quote me on that, as i live in neither country.
