Wind-turbine Generators

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:58 pm

Has anyone discovered if there is a reason, other than aesthetics, to use Wind-turbine generators? We don't have to fork over anything for the fuel in the regular ones, other than the initial build. So, what gives?

They look cool.

As you say.

Same why you would make a television set and give it power despite giving no benefit to happiness or other scores.

They also use a different amount of components but that might not be an issue for people.

There quite? Thats why I use them, the other generators makes to much noise and use them for shops only.

I want my residents be asleep as abby at night with out the noise disturbing them(My roleplay).

Don't know if generator noise makes them unhappy at night.

They don't need screws, ceramics or rubber so if you're desperate to add a small laser turret and you don't have those things then you can build a windmill but the trade-off is that they take a ludicrous amount of steel and aluminium; they only provide 3 power; they are huge, can be difficult to site, and are vulnerable to damage from stray shots; and the power connector is underneath so routing cable might need an extra pylon. I would never build another one.

They svck. I kind of wish they had included solar panels like the ones in Fallout New Vegas as a lower powered quiet alternative. I would gladly give up one of my spare fusion cores if I could build one of those generators that you find in the buildings and get fusion cores from all the time. Now that is a power source.

Their the cheapest source of power in the game, but only put out 3 power per turbine, so their use runs out when you eventually start to build the smaller generators.
