The Lighthouse

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:51 pm

I notice that the pre-war home in the game footage we have seen contains a number of Lighthouse pictures. The concept art also has several depictions of lighthouses, one in particular shows the building being approached by the protagonist and his dog.

So is the Lighthouse going to be an important location for part of the main story?

Does anyone know where the real-world Lighthouses are near Boston? Are they close enough to be part of the game map?

Or is it just symbolism? Speaking of symbolism, I notice that there is also a picture of Water Lilies in the pre-war house.

There was the whole "If the British are coming, light the lanterns: One if by land and two if by sea" thing. Considering that we've got the USS Constitution, Minutemen, and a Ghoul Redcoat, it wouldn't surprise me if the lighthouse came into play at some point during the main quest.

There are a few lighthouses on the islands in Boston Harbor. There are about 30 islands, I hope a couple are in the game. One held an asylum, should have potential for a site.

I actually think this is a bit of an easter egg for part of the main quest.

The map size doesn't really matter. The sites are what is important. Bethesda can scale really well to make stuff fit. They did a pretty cool job with the capitol wasteland. Short drive from the real world capital wasteland myself. Here is to hoping the asylum and some lighthouses made it in. Perhaps a settlement opportunity as well.

You have to find new lighthouses and climb up them to activate them to unlock new areas.... Oh wait no this isn't a Ubisoft game :)

No!! Do not utter the names of cookie cutter games past, present, nor future. They watch and wait from the dark ready to destroy all forms of creativity. To name them gives them a fell power. Speak of it no more.

I am certain, that there will be a lighthouse to poke around on the Boston coastline.

What significance it may have....Eh, who knows?

2015 the year of lighthouse symbolism (FO4 and Life is Strange).

I'm not agog for all of the presupposed pirate tropes such as the glowing sea and the pirate ghoul and the potential lighthouse...

Witcher 3 was also showing off the lighthouses when they were in the hype campaign. I remember CDPR devs posting pics of the lighthouse on twitter.
