Will my Computer run Morrowind and OB at the same time?

Post » Fri May 28, 2010 6:04 am

I just bought Oblivion for my PC, it meets some of the recommended requirements and better than the Minimum, I am wondering if I Can have both Morrowind and Oblivion on my comp. at the same time if my system info is:

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.40 Ghz
2.00 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8300 GS GFX Card.

Edit: I am thinking I should take morrowind off (Even though I like it better but I want to mess aroudn with OB) cause it is over 1 gig, and I am sure having both on will slow me down a bit.

You can have both installed. I don't think you could have both running at one time, even if you run them windowed. They don't like being backgrounded.

The 8300 GS won't give you real good performance in Oblivion: probably low-medium settings.

I didn't mean actually running them side by side, just meant having them on at the same time, ha ha. I know the 8300 GS isn't that great but if i have my settings good enough it shoudl work right? Its my moms comp otherwise I would put a better GFX card in. :mohawk:

So, you're talking about having both programs open at the same time, right? No, your system wouldn't handle that very well. No system does, since MW and OB, like Dogsbody said, don't like to be backgrounded. It doesn't turn out well, usually resulting in crashes.

The amount of hard drive usage will not noticeably effect the performance of games.

I doubt you will notice any difference given that MW isn't huge.

Just installing a game should have no impact on actual computer performance. I had generally same performance just after system reinstall, and now, with a bunch of games and other programs on my hard drive.
