why, it'd be the first game that lets you level up HP (hair points)
I'm hoping that on the way out of the vault you get another chance to change things like hair. Though still in that shiny new jumpsuit it would look out of place.
Maybe a barber in game then?
Actually, your comment is completely "crap and out of place" particularly for a single player RPG.
As long as Todd, Pete, and Bethesda's marketing keep claiming "be anyone you want and do anything you want" while offering only lousy visual aesthetics for characters, I and many others are forced to ignore their untrue claims and rely on our East Asian friends to make mods that allow us to create characters we can actually empathize with.
YOU do not have to use anything you don't empathize with, but NO ONE ELSE should be forced to adhere to your sense of aesthetic.
Keep your game and preference to yourself, okay?
Edit:
In case it's not clear, Terrapin's comment is the same as claiming that only certain racial looks or other visual aesthetics should be offered by either BGS or modders which obviously makes claims of "be any character you want" untrue, not to mention is completely dictatorial.
Edit 2:
Also, fyi, there is no single Japanese (or East Asian) artstyle for "anime" or other East Asian entertainment.
Might as well forbid the lousy American superhero aesthetics which I dislike. I don't ask that such choices be removed by BGS or modders nor do I ask for the so-called "realistic" styles to be removed (although I'd certainly argue claims of "realistic" because I find them to be anything but that). Offering aesthetics that obviously have a huge market appeal and have for decades should be a no-brainer especially when given the marketing claims, but from what I see, BGS still continues to refuse to do so (not that I am surprised since Todd freely admitted to not playing Japanese games but then proceeded to offer criticism of the very games he just said he does not play... go figure).
Judging from your avatar I hit a nerve eh?
Look you can mod the game as much as you please and if you want to ruin the aesthetic set up within the original intended narrative then go ahead. I prefer a more inkeeping aesthetic based upon the original game and yes whether you like it or not anime styled additions are out of place with the original intended design
All I am asking for are a few normal hairstyles for male characters which you are not being "force to adhere to" because you do not have to use them
You just read my comment got all sensitive for some reason and decided that I said 2+2=5.
You missed my point calm your [censored]
I'm guessing, and sort of hoping, that only "normal" hair styles will be available at character creation. Anything else would feel very out of place.
Later when I find a barber, though, I'm hoping to be able to create something like this: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/sketch2015-5-25
Easy, fellas - not every single thread on this forum needs to involve debating personal opinion as if they were fact. It's silly, and when we start moving toward personal attacks and flaming that's when mods have to step in.
Keep it civil, and remember that it really isn't the end of the world if someone has a different point of view than you do.
I'm sure like in F3 and NV, you'll have a choice for pre-war and post-war hairstyles.
I want a 50's housewife hairstyle complete with curled down bangs
For immersion-sake I hope they allow you to change your hairstyle later in the game. I mean, you can build a base from literally the ground up so I would imagine this facility could house some form of this service. Also, perhaps your faithful robotic servant will once again offer new hair.
It would be interesting if you could only choose from logical pre-war accepted hairstyles. It's not like we would really worry about being able to change it later as Fallout 3 and New Vegas both have these options in them in the vanilla game.
Took me forever to get the right hairstyle for my female character in Skyrim. If the option I would like to see in F4 isn't there, probably take me a while to get it right in this game.
Kill Antoine? Kill... Antoine?!
Have you seen what the man can do with a pre-war can of hairspray, a bottle of vodka and a cigar? And he doesn't just use his razor for shaving his customers, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, all the nastiest raider gangs worship the man. If they want their "hacked it off with deathclaw's severed jaw" hairstyle to look really properly ragged, or need a really frightening scar to terrify their enemies and impress their friends, they go to Antoine. They'd never leave him unavenged.
*ahem*
Anyway, back on topic, it might be nice if, on leaving the vault, you got access to a few very basic 'cut it yourself with a knife' hairstyles, then fancier ones when you find a barber/hairdresser.
I think they just need a mix of hairstyles and a barber. No need to limit which styles the player can choose in character creation. Personally, I'm looking for a mixture of softer-looking and practical. Maintaining a shaved look in the waste doesn't strike me as all that easy.
it makes plenty of sense, if not inn it would be pretty trivial to mod in.
Longer for me, I had to make an mod to get the long hairstyles from male Khajit over to females for it to look nice.
I just started a New Vegas play through today and noticed how few hair styles there were as compared to facial hair. I just hope (and believe) Bethesda has expanded the variety. Although it would be awesome to have hair that grows
Beard, meet combat knife and nervous hand. End result, well....
Well we know from Fo3 that a Mr.Handy can cut, color and style hair/facial hair. You presumably return to Godsworth within the first 10 minutes of leaving the vault. If A=B and B=C then Godsworth can cut your hair. For free.
