Texture Bugs - Hardware Info Gathering

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:39 pm

Hey guys I've noticed a lot of people complaining about texture bugs and performance issues relating to such things, and a lot of those people are talking about GPU/CPU only. It's important to understand your hardware overall rather than assuming because some GPU is great then it should run amazing. That's not the case. There's other things to consider like HDD.

It might be good to gather people's hardware specs for Bethesda and ourselves, to figure out what's going on.

If you're having texture loading issues post below with:

CPU (make, model, speed)
GPU (make, model, ram)
HDD (make, model, RPM)
RAM (make, model, speed)
MB (make, model)
Your game settings.
A DX Diag in spoiler tags.

This was brought to my attention when my Pipboy and other in-game textures weren't loading and my load times tripled, and it was because Avast decided to do a scan, taking up resources on my 7200rpm WD hard drive. If I was running the game off an SSD that probably wouldn't haven't affected me.

Here's mine.

AMD FX 8350 overclocked to 4.3ghz CPU
EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked GPU
Western Digital Black 1TB HDD
G.Skill F3 1866 16GB RAM
Asus M5A99x Motherboard
Ultra textures, high/med other settings, 1080p res.

Mine is in my signature :)

Ultra textures (switching to medium or high has no effect), med settings, 900p res, overall great performance, but severe texture loading issues.

man ur GPU has only 1 GB mem, and, of course , it can't load textures, simply there is not space to load dem textures

If you had read the other threads, you would have seen that several others, including those with an Nvidia 980 or a Titan, are experiencing these issues. :)

Besides, textures are supposed to be loaded. If it overwhelms my system, it should stutter, not refuse to load at all ;)

I've seen no issues on two comps which exceeds recommend specs. With gtx 980 and Titan x. If your gpu has less then 3 gb of vram don't post here.

I think we can assume posters with issues meet the minimum spec at least. That is I hope.

The purpose of this thread is to determine what areas of hardware can be improved or the cause of some issues.

People forget the relationship between all of the hardware in their machine, and assume an i7 and 980ti will be enough.
