To begin, I have my main base/home at Red Rocket. That being said, any companions I get, I send them there (easier to choose, when doing quests)
I chose to side with the railroad and was told to still work with The Institute. The warning comes up that choosing this path, you will now become enemies with the BoS, whom I have also been helping out. I finish the quest and head back to Red Rocket, to drop off all the items, I had collected when all of a sudden.......all my settlers and companions at RR start shooting and my warning siren goes off. I thought we were under attack. Nope, they were attacking me because Danse is still at my settlement. Danse comes out in his Power Armor and is just blasting away at me and Cait. I had to put him down and quick travel back to Sanctuary.
I advanced time 24hrs and went back to Red Rocket. Once I arrived, the Siren goes off again. Codsworth comes up to me (the only hostile one) and starts swiping at me. I put him down and head BACK to Sanctuary.
Advance time another 12 hrs and back to Red Rocket I go. All is fine this time, no aggression. Codsworth is like nothing happened...alive and well.I thought for sure I would have to go back in my saves and load up that quest again, from the very beginning after sending Danse away. Luckily all is good. Well, except that now, I have Danse's corpse, in the middle of my settlement and cannot get rid of him. I tried to drag him away and I get a prompt that says "This object is to heavy to pick up"
So a warning. If you are going against one faction, send that companion away before going forward with the quest.
