Distress Signals and Radio Ghosts

Like most people on this forum, I tend to agree that NV was better. But there was one thing about Fallout 3 that I really loved, which I felt gave the wasteland a much more tragic and emotional atmosphere... the morse code distress signals... as well as the pre-recorded voice clips asking for help.

I'm hoping there will be at least a few of these in Boston. Not saying the game should be more dark and depressing than it needs to be... but what if the Survivor came across one of these signals... and recognized the voice? What if he found out that his best friend died trapped like this?

Just throwing out some story ideas for you, Beth.

Yeah it was really cool and I hope they come back, but as signals you have to triangulate to find the source of.

I'm game for that.

Wandering around randomly to find the signal wasn't really all that fun. But if you activated several towers, you might be able to find a location more easily.

I concur. The Radio Ghosts were some of the more haunting aspects of Fallout 3, and hope they return.

Wasn't there a bizarre sounding Chinese broadcast somewhere out in the wastes in F3? I never did get to the bottom of it but it was one of the many strange things that made the game engrossing.

I enjoyed these too. I had hoped some of them would be more involved because I like stumbling into random quests. Hopefully they will expand on this in Fallout 4.

Thanks a lot. Bi Sheng! Bi Sheng! That was it. Never did find the soldiers body though.

I hope that they make a return as well. That said, I do hope a few of them are actually broadcasts from still leaving people who are trapped in some manner, with the radio signals being the guides to quests. The radio signals were a nice touch, but over time they felt a little bit overplayed.
