Zenimax and Bethesda Game Studios are two entirely different entities.

lol i would get your hopes up at all they are neck deep in creating Pillars of Eternity for backers and creating Armoured Warfare a PVP/PVE FTP tank game for russian company my.com and the ladder proves anywhere near world of tanks successful means years of dev time for that project alone.

but who knows what will happen.

most people have zero idea that ZeniMax media is the parent company ill leave link for people that wanna read up on it

It's not concurrent with Fallout 3, it's after (3 or so months), here's why.

The bombs dropped in October 2077. Fallout 3 opens up (the lone wanderer is aged 19 and leaves Vault 101) on August 2277. The lone survivor of vault 111 emerges exactly 200 years later on October 2277. This can be confirmed by Codsworth saying 200 years. He doesn't round up or down, its pinpoint. He was absolutely precise about the temperature of the coffee he brewed that October morning in 2077., why wouldn't he be with the Lone Survivor's re-emergence?

The bombs appear to fall in the late afternoon, but we seem to speak to Codsworth in the early morning. Thus, if he were being exact, it'd be 199.999 years late for dinner, rather than 200.

More important, they did not want to put ESO in the future as it would restrict future single player games, it affect most of tamriell after all, the civil war 1000 years ago is kind of an dark age and an place where it does not have to affect the single player series unless they want to.

Now Fallout is far more restricted in area and timescale.

Saturday, October 23rd, 2077, a few minutes before 9:48 AM. I hope they get that right.

Thanks! And I was mostly being sarcastic.

As for the game's timing, I honestly have no idea when it'll take place, but I hope we get to hear of the Lone Wanderer's accomplishments. That's always been one of my favourite part of any game series, hearing about the deeds done by other characters that you've played.

I really feel like Fo4 taking place right after Fo3 (2 months) would be awesome. They could load the radio and in-game lore with several different possible endings and people might say "The Lone Wandered was such a jerk. I heard he blew up Megaton." the next playthrough they might say, "The Lone Wanderer was a true paragon of humanity. He saved Megaton from the evil Mr.Tenpenny." or something like that.

Well my outlook calendar reminder just says I am 116 weeks overdue for paying my taxes for 2013. It doesn't say 116 weeks 4 days 3 hours 25 minutes and 14 seconds. Really depends on the programming and since most programmers are lazy they probably just programmed it to say the highest integer.
