over 200 years after the bombs fell?

Does this just automatically confirm intercontinental travel to Asia and Europe in the cannon after the bombs?

It was already confirmed in Fallout 3 that Tenpenny came from the U.K., and that Moriarty came from another country as well.

Most likely generations in their family spent their youths exclusively with their family group, and had very little outside influence into their accents.

This is my head-cannon for it at least.

Otherwise your guess is as good as mine.

Just had this exact conversation with my brother. Wish Bethesda would let the story dwell a little more into what's going on in the rest of the world. Cait's accent is just SO heavy for being from the wasteland.

Mother Murphy has the thickest Boston accent I've ever heard. Sometimes I talk to her just to hear it.

I also wonder about Cait's accent. I guess it's been confirmed that there's transatlantic travel in the setting, but that seems odd given everything else we know. I guess for now, I'm going to assume that she hopped on a boat and traveled from Ireland to the U.S. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for her to have such a thick accent.

even if you take into account isolated settlements/extended families living miles from anywhere, that still doesn't take history into account, cos historically thats how folks in the US lived and they all ended up with the same accent within the last 200 years (with regional variations in tone).

It's just one of those "just a game" things to add colour to the wasteland, I wouldn't stress it too much. I don't buy people sailing from Ireland/UK/Russia to the US though, that would be even more dangerous than it was in the 16th century, And why would they want to go? "Hey, Ireland didn't get hit too hard in the war, sure we have radroaches and bog-ghouls, but eh... how about we move somewhere REALLY dangerous and destroyed, like East Coast US? Sound good?" lol

sailing over here does make some sense. there have always been those that think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

Tenpenny was from the UK, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some travel. Even Moriarty had an accent. I'd have to believe it would be a rare occurence.

That's actually why I'd like to see a game set in London or something. Expand the lore.
