Become a super mutant and get super powers.

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 9:42 pm

Wait, Whut?

No, Really. Become mean and green. Permanently hulk out. (unless you go blue through the judicial use of stealth boys.)

The downsides

-Prejudice, Loose relations with factions.

-The clothes you are wearing might rip

- Lady killer and black widow options might become more rare (or more comical)

- become infertile. Which is a shame because this game has baby generating technology.

- If you are female, you loose your briasts and become somewhat less feminine.

(though I'm sure that through improvements to the FEV virus, one might some of these issues)

The upsides

- Mad strength.

- Mad weight.

- Your health is multiplied.

- you get smarter

- Ignore radiation.

- Jump high

- Jump on enemies to kill them with your mad weight.

- Throw enemies, which are lighter by comparison

- Sprint through wooden doors, because the handle is for weaklings.

- Kill enemies by throwing them into hard things, dangerous heights, into fires, or sharp things.

- power fist people without actualy needing a powerfist.

- Wield heavy weapons like they're nothing. Dual wield Fat men.

- You could literaly rip people apart.

- and box death claws.

- you could build super power armour, for super people like yourself, which essentialy just really big and thick power armour. You're like the mountain. You're invincible. (disclaimer; super-mutants may or may not be immune to poison)

-Stealth boys will make you blue. Who doesn't want to be blue?

But seriously, from a gameplay perspective, being a supermutant would be incredibly fun.

That sounds absolutely absurd to be honest.

From every other perspective it would be incredibly tacky.

There are also much more downsides to being a supermutant than your aesthetics, and personal standing

Stealth boys also don't just turn a mutant blue, and hardly makes them any more intelligent.

You don't get smarter, you get stupider
Never seen a Super Mutant jump high
Building yourself a set of SM Power Armor is ridiculous

Won't happen, simply because, like ghouls, most of the main story and side quests, would be cutoff to you. /Thread

- If you are female, you loose your briasts and become somewhat less feminine. There are no Genders, you lose whatever you once were. Tabitha is just a confused Super Mutant there is nothing to prove that it was once a she.

(though I'm sure that through improvements to the FEV virus, one might some of these issues)

The upsides
- Mad strength.
- Mad weight.
- Your health is multiplied.
- you get smarter No. You don't Often one stays the same intellectually and that is the good Vault Dwellers. The Vault 87 strain has a dumbing effect which means East Coast Super Mutants on average are dumb, not stupid but not nearly as smart as they once were.
- Ignore radiation.

That's pretty much it.

And we need to keep in mind it's still a RPG. This isn't The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Isn't it a sandbox FPS now?

Heh, honestly, who knows. But I like to hope it's still a RPG.

I'd like the option to become one, especially if I'm immune to radiation and stronger.

Erm...so Fallout: Hulk Edition?

No thanks...I'd like to be able to play as a ghoul though.

Open world does not mean sandbox. A true sandbox game would allow you to alter the story or create a new story. There are very few true sandbox games in existence.

Fallout is just as much a theme park game as it has ever been. They have added some sandbox elements to it, but it is still very much a theme park.

Fallout is a theme park RPG that can be played as a FPS and has some sandbox elements.

Being turned into a super android would be better, you'd look the exact same while still getting mad strength and immunity to rads.

For a mod, sure. I just downloaded a mod for Fallout-3 based on Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman which makes my character grow as she is affected by radiation. The screenshots I saw of the mod i action looked hilarious. Obviously non "canon" but then it's not supposed to be: it's a fun mod to an old, old game that makes me still want to play it. :)
