One of the big themes of Fallout (well, for me) has always been Science!
Science! is science gone slighty mad to totally bonkers added with some Nope-doesn't-work-in-RL.
It's functional fusion reactors, plasma weapons, laser rifles that shoot visible beams, robots, functional AIs and hovering brains-in-jars that are obsessed with your [censored]-tipped appendages (Kleins words, not mine).
New Vegas 3rd DLC, Old World Blues, was great that way, really showcasing the mad part of limitless research and a screwed moral compass.
Sadly, as player, Science! is usually something you see, but not do, even if you focus on the skill you more or less end up a glorified hacker at best with some brainy-dialog thrown in.
Repair kinda went the same way, reduced to a support skill to keep your weapons in tip-top shape.
Also I'd love to see more in-world application, as alternative problem solutions. Shoot - fix - talk, if you want it reduced to the basics. Kill the bad guy, lock him into his room, convince his #2 guy he's better at the job. More solutions to quests other then lethal force.
Thoughts?
