Player animations are in "fast forward" &stuck o

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:08 pm

I have been playing FO4 for 15hrs and now all of a sudden I am getting animations as if I were in "fast forward".

The lock picking turns the tumbler so fast it instantly breaks my bobby pin, I walk normally and its like 100MPH and when I sprint I feel I can make it from one end of the map to the other fairly quick. (whole game world map that is)

Also after I use terminals, I get stuck on them from getting off and cant move and have to reload. I quick save before using any and have to reload like 4x before I get lucky enough to get away...

It was working fine for me for 15hrs and now this. Its hard to play when you feel like "The Flash" and just dodge bullets all day and run up to enemies and smash them in the mouth and run away fairly untouched.

How can I fix this?! I deleted local content in steam and redownloaded, I Verified the integrity of the game cache and still nothing.

PC:

Win 10

GTX 980ti

i7 4790 @ 3.6ghz

16gb ddr3 Ram

Yup.

If 60 FPS is not enough for you (though many cannot maintain even that) you can increase the framerate cap to 120 FPS.

But don't remove the cap completely...

I have no option in Nvidia CP to lock out to specific FPS.. Vsync can be either on or off..

Thanks for the tip, now just have to see how I can lock it.

Did you do any ini file tweaks? Remove those and see if it works better.

Had to delete local content in steam AND the folder for fallout 4 (with game saves) from X: Mydocuments/fallout4.......

Reinstalled Fallout4 like a factory reset and Steam cloud resynced my save so no prgress lost! And im not the flash on crack anymore! LOL

Thanks again for all that chimed in to help! :)

The specific setting is iPresetInterval.
Set at 1 (default) it caps @ 60FPS.
Set at 2, it caps at 120 FPS (high enough for almost anyone).
Set at 0 (not recommended) it mucks up the game's physics...
Hardware reviewers, testing different vidcards, will set it to 0 - but they're not really playing the game!
Honestly, most players should just leave it alone.

You are the man Gryphon. I will play around with 1 and 2 to see if it happens again.

Do you think it is safe to do the POV increase and the mouse sensitivity remove in the. ini file?

I really liked how they were when I did it last time.

Also, I always seem to get around 100fps even now with a fresh install on my fps counter...doest it still lock at 60? Shouldn't the counter stay on 60 if the preset interval is at 1?

If you're like me and use Gsync, you don't want Vsync on. I set iPresentInterval to 0, force vsync to off in the NVidia CP and then use Nvidia Inspector which displays hidden GPU setting to cap the FPS at 60.
