PIPed out of PIPBOY EDITION by EBGamestop!

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 1:10 am

Hey all, I have no idea where else to turn; EB/Gamestop told me 'svcks to be you'. If I posted in the wrong place, Admin/Overseer, please take pity on me and move it/

The Day before E3 I put down my pre-order for F4 at the Sunshine Plaza Electronics Botuque store, Queensland, Australia. They refused to accept more then the $10AUD deposit.

Next day, Pipboy Edition was announced, and sold out here in Australia <22 hours.

Just heared back; apparently due to a "clerical error" they didn't upgrade my order because the clerk refused to accept the $50 that they need 'to upgrade in case a collector's edition'.

Is there another way for me in Australia to get the actual Pip-Boy edition here in Australia?

I feel like I paid for my place in the vault; only to be told "no place for you" after the Bombs start falling...

I think Bethesda itself had some pip boy editions for sale recently (like 4 hours ago) Havnt checked since but since they only ship on the continent, youd more than likely have to get a shipping service to onship it to you.

Europe is apparently being sorted out at the moment. Id check into stores in that vicinity and keep your eye on the twitter feed from Bethesda and Pete Hines for more info. Its a long shot but its still a shot.

I actually paid up front all 180 + dollars to the Pip Boy Edition at an EB games over here. Guy was suprised as I was the only one to do so out of all the copies they sold.

(Actually reading your post there, you put money down for a normal edition of F4 the day before e3? You dont mention the collectors at all in that line). Then e3 happened and the pip boy ed was anncounced, then you have just heard back to say they didnt upgrade your order?

Am a little lost. Did you call them or talk to them after e3 and before they ran out and before they called you back? and say you wanted a Collectors. They would just upgrade you without you asking them to?

I called the day of E3 asking for upgrade; they said they had me upgraded to a Pipboy Edition already.

(I too normally pay up-front, but the store refused my request to pay the $190 in cash.)

Just got a call from EB's 3 hours ago saying that they had their "clerical error" and they can no longer give me a Pipboy Edition.

Does that clarify it?

Yeah it does thanks. You just missed some points from your first post. Its weird that that store of EB differed in their policy compared to the EB store I used.

Best of luck!

If you want chdd I can talk to my store near my work (its where I ordered mine from). People are notorious for not paying off their pre orders and then voiding them so I can see if that happens. I know the boss who works there well so It wouldnt be a huge issue. Of course there would be a long wait involved.

Reading between the Lines, Michael (the EB dude) probably bought them out from under us (I'm not the only one who had their order downgraded), and is one of the scalpers selling them for >$500 on ebay...

I have no physical proof, only anedotal,, so I'm unable to do a damn thing...

As for on-shipping, I'm still looking into it; but the matter remains: I went through the Legit means, and had the Pipboy edition baited, and switched out for vanilla FO4.

If you could, that would be greatly appreciated mate. Hell If you wanted an extra $50 + P and H, I'd be happy with that. :icecream:

Is there a limit per person at GameStop/EB for this deal? What about the online retailers like Amazon? Scalpers who are just in it for the profit are going to make this very hard for people.

There is: But who checks it? that's right your "Friendly Local Gaming Store" Clerk.

Will do, but like I said, I'm not the only guy in the area that this has happened to.

I know that feel I remember going to a GameStop to get a game forwarded from San antonio... A game they sold for 20 which went for 100 on eBay... Manager said they didn't have it after a long time on the phone... Later that evening I saw the game on eBay and. I asked the seller if he got it from that place which he confirmed yes..
