With guns and silencers they're a little unnecessary, but.. I wouldn't mind a http://crysis.wikia.com/wiki/Predator_Bow, that baby was sick.

Fallout 3 never really catered for stealth attacks, yeah we had the dart gun & a silenced pistol but on the whole it was severely lacking. Its great to go in guns blazing but sometimes I'll like to challenge myself by taking the silent approach. The striker crossbow worked well in the game Rage, allowing for various ammo types, Steel-tipped Bolts, Dynamite Bolts, Electro Bolts, Mind Control Bolts. Can be a lot of fun.

Why is that? I'm not terribly familiar with bows. I know the difference in how they look but I don't know why a recurve bow would be more practical. A longbow would be easier to make though, yeah?

Hah, right? The only time I was any good at Stealth was with the completely overpowered Chinese Stealth suit. But at that point, I was in a Broken Steel mission that involved a location that was 80% Deathclaws for a mission, and that made the stealth almost more than necessary...

Longbows tend to be around 6ft tall, that tends to make it a little noticeable. You could make shortbows but they have much less power. Recurve bows, on the other hand, combine the length of a shortbow with the power of a longbow into one package.
