No Sli or dual chip graphic card support`?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:42 pm

So, I noticed this game has the exact same problem Evil within had that there is no Sli / dual chip graphics card support what so ever, is there any ETA on an update for this? Because my 690 is only getting one chip of the 2 used and it is really hammering that one chip instead of sharing the load / increasing performance. I know they never fixed Evil within when it came to this issue, I really hope they do for this game, because I really have to sacrifice some graphic settings right now because of this. :sadvaultboy:

Hey man.

Right click your Desktop, open up nVidia Control Panel. Go into Manage 3D settings, click on the Program Settings tab, Select a program to customize, select Fallout4 4 (fallout4.exe) or add it if you have to, just make sure it's the game's main .exe

Scroll down and choose SLI rendering mode, change it to Force alternate frame rendering 2. SLI will now be active. This is a temp. fix until bethesda adds SLI support if they do.

I'd also recommend changing Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance, Texture Filtering - Quality to High quality and Thread optimization to On. I'd also look up how to disable the in-game v-sync and use nVidia's vsync (smooth) through the control panel.

Thanks, I will have to give this a whirl, because it is kinda depressing at the moment. One chip shoots up to 80 ° and the other sits at 32 ° doing nothing.

Does the threading optimization take load off of the gpu at all? cuz according to msiafterburner all my cores are being used.

Just wanna update people on this situation. I would not recommend forcing alternate frame rendering 2, because that just causes the game to heat up the gpus even more. The other options helped a lot, but that one is a bad idea. I can only hope that Bethesda actually brings out an update soon for sli support, this is 2015 for gods sake. ESO has sli support, skyrim has sli support, why not this game ?
