is it possible to romance a companion after they idolize you and give you their final story? I maxed out my affinity with Piper, but I was in the middle of a quest and chose the friendly option instead of the speech check. Now I'm worrying that I might never get the chance again. Will it randomly pop up again or was that it? If it's the latter, is there a way to have her repeat her last story via console commands?

Pretty sure it is impossible to romance them unless you chose the speech check. Actually, i am almost positive.

Actually, Noohj was right. Just got back to Diamond City and when I met Piper, she initiated a conversation and I had the opportunity to do the speech check again. So it seems you can delay the romance option after you've reached max affinity.
