Places I Think We Should Have For Settlement System...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:35 pm

I'm really hyped for the settlement system, and I've been making lots of threads about the settlement and I have been getting loads of positive feedback. Now I want to make another thread. Here are the places I think should we should have with the settlement system. And this is going to be a long list.

  • School
  • Casinos
  • Insides stores(I want my place to be organized)
  • Training Areas(So my guards will dominate the raiders, and become ultimate warriors)
  • Medical Care
  • Church(Like in Rivet City, that was a good mechanic)
  • Research Area(For Diseases going about
  • Police Station with Jail Cells(We all know someone's going to break the law once in a while)
  • Bars/Restaurants (For people to eat and drink)
  • Watch Towers
  • Walls(So my place can be more secure)
  • Water Purification System(Like what the vault has)
  • Clubs
  • Slave Pens(For Law Breakers)
  • Library
  • Grave Yards
  • Day Cares
  • Arenas(For Law Breakers to fight for freedom

These are all of my ideas don't be afraid to share your opinon!

For me, it's watchtowers and walls, I can purpose any regular buildings as I see fit, I am thinking..

what about what types of partitioning we might be able to build?
Brick walls?
Metal walls?
Chain link Fence?
Razor wire?
Barred Fences/gates/doors?

Also, will we have agriculture to feed our settlers with and possibly sell?

Well I seem to recall seeing some sort of crop being planted when the settlement building was shown off so presumably there will be agriculture and I would think trading food would be a potentially lucrative business and way to make some caps.

As for my own wants, my main one is to be able to build homes or at least rooms that can be assigned to companions for them to use when they are not following you around the Wasteland. It is the sort of thing I have always wanted to see doable in one of these games because I feel like it should be doable. After all, these people are throwing their lot in with you, so why shouldn't they be able to have some nice lodgings as a benefit of that? :)

As for buildings, it would be very cool to be able to build a literal town with proper shops and bars and houses and all the rest of the stuff that would make a Wasteland town livable. But, I am a lover of city building games so of course I would want that. :P

i just want walls, turrets and guards on said walls, then make a power station building that has unifed power grid, and make it hard to shut down without damaging the building ,my idea is have a farm area, water area, power station,my home, companion homes then have 2 ways in and out (both treated like checkpoints where it has walling and turrets inside guarding ,with big doors (hopefully activated by switches only) the inner area treated as a MASSIVE fire area /death area to keep out the enemies )) MORELESS ,a death sentence if you try to invade with stuff short of mini nukes, tanks, vetibirds due to the checkpoints being able to be turned into dead ends with guns centered on it

Wonder if the 3rd icon is actually a lighthouse on by the sea at 20:23 in the presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t_YHgo_HN4. It kinda looks like one, but then I may be using my over active imagination land again. I would enjoy building a lighthouse for a settlement! :D

I think there should be some areas totally in wilderness like campgrounds and cabins. There should also be some natural terrain you can use to your advantage when building fortifications.

It would be nice to be able to build with wood and stone too. I don't like seeing a bunch of scrap metal everywhere all the time.

From what I saw in the E3 demo, I can just build whatever I desire, rather than repurposing for my settlement.
