I don't think so... They did have a Navy back then.

No, tattoos weren't just a military thing, even before the Cold War, or WW2. Lots of people had them, that weren't necessarily in the military. Even some women, who are famous tattoo artists. Maud Wagner is a woman that comes to mind. She even predates WW1, having tattoos.

I wasn't implying they were just a military thing. I was just saying that I think that's when tattoos began to become more mainstream.

I know as a veteran, assuming the option for tattoos is avaiable in the Extras section, I will definitely get one - like on my arm or something. If the option to type in letters to be enscribed on you as a tattoo is available, I'll come up with a name for the squad he or she was in and have that, or use a name of a friend who was killed in the Great War, if not then I'll just have a symbol for the squad (a flaming arrow or the like) - there's potential there for roleplaying purposes.

Tattoos would be great. I like a little body art on my character.

My savage raider character better be able to have some kind of war paint or at least grime on his/her face! And maybe a scar or two.

I like the idea of paying omage to fallout 2, where to join the Slavers you have to receive some ink. Forcing you to become "one of them" Slavers for life, and that kinda jazz.
