Vertibird Theories

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 2:09 pm

I have been thinking about the E3 footage that I saw that showcased your character tossing a flare and a Vertibird showing up. I find the idea of that to be cool but I know I will never use that ingame. Also, while I was thinking, another thing occurred to me that got me really excited. My theory is that you will be able to call your Vertibird to you, to drop off your Power Armor.

I am of the opinion that now that PA is now actually Power Armor like it is in the FO Lore and in the first two games, that we will need to put on our PA when we leave our homebase/settlement, etc. Or if we have a Vertibird that we can have it flown to us.

Does that sound like a good idea to anybody else? I think it is very possible...

Like Power Armor was in the first two games? I can only remember from FO1 and FO2 that you could carry your PA in the inventory just like in FO3 and you could equip unequip it whenever you pleased. it sure wasnt stationary like a car in the garage as with FO4.

I don't know how they're handling weight units this time around, but I think you're going to be able to carry around power armor. When you put together the weights of the armor pieces in the crafting demonstration, a suit of power armor only weighs ~120 weight units, which is still light enough for you or a companion to carry around.

The way you get into the PA makes me think that it is not something that is in your inventory. I wouldn't be destroyed if is was or not, though. If it isn't something that can go in your inventory I think it would really give purpose to the Vertibird for people, like me, who are most likely not going to use it. In most games, and FO especially, I want to walk everywhere to take everything in.

I am ok with not carrying around power armor in inventory. it is a bit less freedom but if it results in a more authentic feel and ups the overall badassery I am all for it. Looking forward to helldiving out of a vertibird in power armor. That looks to be an option as well.
